Krvavac

Krvavac is a village in the Neretva Delta region of southern Croatia, located near Metković and Kula Norinska. It lies within a complex network of river channels, irrigation canals, wetlands, and fertile agricultural land formed by the Neretva River.

The settlement is part of the traditional delta landscape where life has historically been shaped by water. Boats were once the main means of transport, and the characteristic wooden lađa was used for farming, fishing, and moving through the canals and marshes of the delta.

Krvavac is surrounded by mandarin orchards, vegetable fields, and wetland ecosystems that support rich biodiversity, especially bird species. The fertile alluvial soil and controlled water channels make the area one of the most productive agricultural zones in Croatia.

Today, Krvavac remains a quiet rural settlement that reflects the traditional lifestyle of the Neretva Delta, combining agriculture, water management, and a close connection to the surrounding natural environment.
