Čitluk is a town and municipality in Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, located southwest of Mostar. It lies in a typical karst landscape of hills, vineyards, and Mediterranean vegetation, forming part of the wider wine-growing region of Herzegovina.
The area is well known for its strong agricultural tradition, especially viticulture and wine production. The local grape varieties and wineries make Čitluk one of the most important centers of the Herzegovinian wine industry, with many family-run vineyards and modern wine cellars.
Čitluk also serves as the administrative center of the municipality that includes several surrounding villages, including Međugorje, which is one of the most famous Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. This proximity has strongly influenced local tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure development.
Despite growing tourism in nearby Međugorje, Čitluk itself retains a more local and agricultural character, with quiet settlements, stone houses, and traditional Herzegovinian landscapes of dry hills, olive groves, and vineyards.
