Jablanica
Jablanica is the biggest town downstream from Konjic to Mostar. It is located at a plateau under the mountains Cvrsnica and Prenj, south of the place where the Rama flows into the Neretva. By construction of a high dam and making an accumulation lake a part of a fertile land was lost. So the landscape was changed a lot. There is a lot of game on the surrounding mountains for example chamois. The mountains attract the hikers and many tourists generally. The very town of Jablanica is famous for the exploitation of a high quality granite. Before Jablanica was atttracting the tourists with its museum and the broken steel bridge that depict the events from 1943 and the fourth offensive, and the big battle for salvation of 4000 sick and wounded partisans, known as the battle for the wounded on the Neretva.

From Jablanica to Mostar the three power plants were built with three accumulation lakes: Jablanica, Grabovica and Salakovac. The railroad and the asphalt road pass through the Neretva gorge, between the highest Hercegovina mountains, the Cvrsnica on the right side and the Prenj on the left side.
There are many springs of potable water forming the streams that flow noisily into the Neretva. The canyon of the Doljanka, the right tributary of the Neretva attracts special attention. The canyon is 700 to 1200 m high. After the Doljanka there comes The Grabovica and then the Dreznica. In the Doljanka canyon, 12 km west of Jablanica there is Doljani village. According to the legend an outlaw chief, Mijat Tomic was killed there. There are many interesting old tombstones. At Strmac, under Sovic Vrata, at Posceci field, 8 km west of Doljani there is Mijat`s grave.
In Dreznica, where the Dreznica meets the Neretva, in 1800 a bridge was constructed. The construction was ordered by Mostar beg Lakisic, as it is said in the engraved text from year 1215 of hidzeret. It was built without the fence, in two archs. In Donja Grabovica 10 km south of Jablanica, at the left bank of the Neretva, at the catholic cemetry there is a nice, well preserved old tombstone. In the mountain village Risovac, at the plateau between the mountains Cvrsnica and Vran, 20 km west of Jablanica on the road from Sovic Vrata along the Doljanka towards western Hercegovina there are two groups of old tombstones, 41 of them with decorations like cresent, rosette, cross, humans and so on.
